Hi everyone, Im relatively a new player but have experience in Exploration and mining. Im getting to a stage where im finding myself bored out my brains, I mine 5 hours a day making around 60mil then do some exploration making around 200mill every couple of days depending how lucky I am, the point is im do these activities and straight away im finding I just haven't got the energy to do this, I have recently brought a stratios and looking into do some WH Camping at relic sites. Its not all about making isk, its about having fun, its something thats missing for me.
What makes you guys to give you that motivation in doing different things from your own main activities? |

I haven't had much luck with corporations tbh, but finding a small gang or a partner in crime would most probably benefit me. My goals are fairly simple and thats having a POS and maybe looking to move in WH space in the long run when i get more experienced and training. My Short term goals are making enough isk for plex and manufacturing T1 ships on the side, i need more excitement, Null-Sec Exploration isn't cutting it for me, although i have had some great escapes and even a few deaths which is all good. |

L'ouris wrote:My recommendation is to put the stratios off as a medium to long term plan. Your short term plan should be to take your collected isk from your hours of eye wrenching boredom and make it fuel your fun.
Go buy a stack of T1 cruisers, frigates and destroyers and throw caution to the wind while you suicide into everything that moves.
Advice: spend a 5 hour session getting stuff staged close to your playground if you have the ISK. Player run courier services are relatively cheap and you will find your enjoyment is easier when you only spend a minute or two getting into another disposable ship rather than hiking all the way back to a trade hub everytime your t1-fit ship blows up.
Whenever I get bored, I build a new staging system somewhere new and spend a week or so getting things into position and learning about local players in my timezone and habits. Then I burn through a ton of acquired isk in a rather appalling short amount of time taking every fight and coming down hard on all the bait. This is the closest I've come to the 'fire-and-forget, instant gratification' in Eve you can find in other games.
The catch is that to truly give no 'cares' about dying, your logistics needs to be in place. Nothing puts a wet blanket to your fun like having to do a supply run right when you find some eager players willing to engage. Definitely something I will look into, im not scared or concerned about dying, I just want to blow some isk having fun as you pointed out and having fun while learning to pvp.
I do like the aspect of ganking in a cloaky ship, as my skills are leaned towardsthat aspect of pvp for now, although basic skills for fitting pvp frigate wouldn't be problem, I will keep my options open and see what happens I guess, but I will be making my moves into something fun soon enough |

Talk to them, try it, repeat till you find a group and/or activity you like and enjoy Intresting, but 5mill in SP isn't going to really cut it for your corporation. |

Aimee Arbosa wrote:Socialize a little OP, even if it turns out you don't want to be part of a corp you'll be amazed what simply having a circle of friends you chat to or share channels with each day will do. Entertainment, inspiration, education, ideas and inevitably .. dragging each other around on adventures and stuff. Like many players my earliest days were spent mining. I'd often chat to folks in local or join channels I heard about and you just make friends and contacts over time. Don't let the general anti-socialness of a vast majority of EVE players you encounter discourage you. I was eventually dragged to lowsec by a friend, then into PVP by another, then later into wormholes (and now even null by another, urrhhg thx Jester). Haven't looked back since. Praxis Ginimic wrote:Brave has a W-space division that takes in and trains newbros. I think they are called Dropbears? EVE University also have a wormhole campus. And aside from the "big corps" that are newbie friendly I'm sure if you poke around the recruiting forum you'll find a ton of smaller corporations too in wormholes that are very accepting of newbros. Good luck! cool thanks, some really interesting things I can do to improve the more social side for my eve, I do need contacts and build friendships, I do need to get put there more rather than being solo and stuck in a rut, I will do my research and joining channels ect. Hopefully I will find my place in eve alot easier :) |

Aralyn Cormallen wrote:Lissandra Icebornx wrote:My Short term goals are making enough isk for plex Don't do that. It sounds cool when you first hear of the possibility, but its the fasterest way to turn yourself in to a wageslave. A year or two down the line, when you have three+ accounts and are raking in a billion a week, sure, plex an account or two. But right now, when most of what you are making a month is scraped in to barely affording a single plex, there is no quicker way to drive yourself in to hating the game. Fully agree with all of that, I think im putting myself through torture by dribbling at the computer screen looking at rocks, subscribing isn't a problem, Im putting more pressure on myself trying to make enough isk, as stated, its time to start having fun and finding new friends to enjoy eve. |

Hit me up in game some time. I'm in the same boat you are and looking for some people to do some fun things with. A buddy of mind are talking to a corporation that doesn't mind low SP people and seem to be a cool bunch of people. Even if you aren't interested in that I would love to do some runs with you and get blown up a bit just to have someone else to have fun with in the game. I'm hitting a point where exploration isn't doing it for me anymore and I can't stand mining.
I just finished training mining barge up a bit and I can't even bring myself to build a barge because I hate the idea of mining so much. :-P
Anyone long story short, I could use some newbie friends too to make the game more interesting. Sounds good, I will add you at the weekend when im able to get on, glad im not the only one out there, and thank you for everyone for all the feedback, I really appreciate it.
