My recommendation is to put the stratios off as a medium to long term plan. Your short term plan should be to take your collected isk from your hours of eye wrenching boredom and make it fuel your fun.

Go buy a stack of T1 cruisers, frigates and destroyers and throw caution to the wind while you suicide into everything that moves.

Advice: spend a 5 hour session getting stuff staged close to your playground if you have the ISK. Player run courier services are relatively cheap and you will find your enjoyment is easier when you only spend a minute or two getting into another disposable ship rather than hiking all the way back to a trade hub everytime your t1-fit ship blows up.

Whenever I get bored, I build a new staging system somewhere new and spend a week or so getting things into position and learning about local players in my timezone and habits. Then I burn through a ton of acquired isk in a rather appalling short amount of time taking every fight and coming down hard on all the bait. This is the closest I've come to the 'fire-and-forget, instant gratification' in Eve you can find in other games.

The catch is that to truly give no 'cares' about dying, your logistics needs to be in place. Nothing puts a wet blanket to your fun like having to do a supply run right when you find some eager players willing to engage.

Get out of that npc Corp immediately and find some people doing what you're interested in.

Talk to them, try it, repeat till you find a group and/or activity you like and enjoy

Socialize a little OP, even if it turns out you don't want to be part of a corp you'll be amazed what simply having a circle of friends you chat to or share channels with each day will do. Entertainment, inspiration, education, ideas and inevitably .. dragging each other around on adventures and stuff.

Like many players my earliest days were spent mining. I'd often chat to folks in local or join channels I heard about and you just make friends and contacts over time. Don't let the general anti-socialness of a vast majority of EVE players you encounter discourage you. I was eventually dragged to lowsec by a friend, then into PVP by another, then later into wormholes (and now even null by another, urrhhg thx Jester). Haven't looked back since.


EVE University also have a wormhole campus.

And aside from the "big corps" that are newbie friendly I'm sure if you poke around the recruiting forum you'll find a ton of smaller corporations too in wormholes that are very accepting of newbros.

Don't do that. It sounds cool when you first hear of the possibility, but its the fasterest way to turn yourself in to a wageslave.

A year or two down the line, when you have three+ accounts and are raking in a billion a week, sure, plex an account or two. But right now, when most of what you are making a month is scraped in to barely affording a single plex, there is no quicker way to drive yourself in to hating the game.

Hit me up in game some time. I'm in the same boat you are and looking for some people to do some fun things with. A buddy of mind are talking to a corporation that doesn't mind low SP people and seem to be a cool bunch of people. Even if you aren't interested in that I would love to do some runs with you and get blown up a bit just to have someone else to have fun with in the game. I'm hitting a point where exploration isn't doing it for me anymore and I can't stand mining.

I just finished training mining barge up a bit and I can't even bring myself to build a barge because I hate the idea of mining so much. :-P

Anyone long story short, I could use some newbie friends too to make the game more interesting.
